UKODHIKO ATTENDS SERVICE OF SONGS FOR LATE MAJ. GEN. PAUL UFUOMA OMU, EXTENDS HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES
Earlier in the evening of Thursday, 20th November 2025, the Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rep. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, joined other notable dignitaries from various walks of life for the Service of Songs held in honour of the Late Maj. Gen. Paul Ufuoma Omu (Rtd.). The solemn event took place at the All Saints Anglican Church, Zone 5, Wuse, Abuja.
Maj. Gen. Omu, the Olodi of Igbide Kingdom and the Othuke of Isoko Nation, was celebrated for his illustrious life of service, discipline, and patriotism. The Service of Songs drew family members, friends, top government officials, military officers, traditional rulers, and political leaders who gathered to pay their final respects to a man widely regarded as a national icon.
In his condolence message, Rep. Ukodhiko commiserated with the immediate family of the late elder statesman, urging them to find solace in the remarkable truth that Maj. Gen. Omu lived an exemplary and impactful life. He described the deceased as a man defined by courage, discipline, and unwavering devotion to duty.
According to the federal lawmaker, Maj. Gen. Omu will be fondly remembered for his distinguished military career, his noble legacy of national service, and his profound contributions to the advancement of the Isoko Nation.
He prayed that the Almighty God grants the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss, even as Nigerians continue to draw inspiration from the enduring legacy of a man who served his country with honour, integrity, and distinction.
The solemn ceremony was officiated by the Most Rev. E. E. Akanya and Rt. Revd. Dr. O. O. Ajayi, alongside other esteemed clergymen who offered prayers and reflections in honour of the departed statesman.
Maj. Gen. Omu (Rtd.) is remembered not only as a towering military figure but also as a respected community leader whose footprints remain indelible in the sands of time.
